BIO...

Abdul Chestnut is an American media entrepreneur, entertainment executive, producer and community development advocate whose work spans music, television, digital streaming, workforce development & cultural innovation. Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Chestnut comes from a family rich in musical talent, which inspired his early passion for entertainment and ultimately led him to build a career focused on creative expression, independent media ownership and community empowerment.

In 1999, Chestnut founded Abdul Entertainment, marking the beginning of his professional journey in the music industry. The company’s first projects quickly established his reputation in music promotion and production, including “With My Whole Heart” by Bishop James H. Morton & New Beginning Full Gospel Baptist Church.

In 2000, the late gospel artist Dirk Chaney recognized Chestnut’s talent and invited him to assist with the retail marketing and promotion of “God Is Great” by Dirk Chaney & The Chosen Aggregation. Chaney encouraged the then 26-year-old entrepreneur to pursue entertainment marketing professionally, telling him he possessed a “natural gift” in the field. That mentorship became a defining moment in Chestnut’s career and helped inspire him to expand his company into an independent label.

By 2001, Abdul Entertainment released its first independent project, La’Trese (self-titled), a neo-soul and R&B/Hip-Hop project that gained attention throughout Philadelphia and in several international markets.

In 2003, amid rising social and economic concerns across the United States, Chestnut released “Peace Suite” by The Chestnut Brothers, an EP blending inspirational R&B and contemporary gospel music that resonated with anti-violence and social justice organizations. The standout record “Travelin’ On” gained international acclaim and was heralded as one of the best underground dance records of the year in the United Kingdom, Europe & Japan.

That same year, Chestnut launched the “Save Our Children” Campaign, a community outreach initiative designed to provide positive programming and opportunities for youth in Philadelphia neighborhoods. The campaign produced 27 community events, earning Chestnut recognition as one of the youngest and most impactful community activists in the city at the time.

In 2006, Chestnut relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where he expanded his vision beyond music into television and digital media. This evolution led to the creation of AEMG TV, a global streaming television network that distributes films, documentaries, music programming, podcasts & original series while providing independent creators with a platform to reach worldwide audiences.

Today, AEMG TV operates as the flagship platform of Chestnut’s growing media ecosystem, distributing content through major streaming platforms and producing culturally relevant programming across film, television and digital media.

As part of his long-term commitment to education and economic empowerment, Chestnut launched the AEMG TV Academy of the Arts, a workforce development initiative designed to train youth and adults in Media Arts, film production, digital broadcasting, entrepreneurship and creative industries. The program also includes Vocational and Technical Apprenticeship & Training pathways, preparing participants for careers in fields such as content creation, media production, technology and emerging creative industries.

Through partnerships with community organizations, educators, and industry professionals, the Academy serves as a bridge between creative education and real-world career opportunities, helping participants develop practical skills that can lead to employment, entrepreneurship and long-term career growth.

Chestnut has also partnered with GreenSHADES Communities to support the BuildMeAHomeUSA initiative, a workforce development and housing program designed to create opportunities in construction, sustainable development and community revitalization. The initiative integrates job training, apprenticeships, and workforce placement opportunities while supporting affordable housing and economic development in communities across the United States.

In addition to media and workforce initiatives, Chestnut is preparing to launch The Fan Embassy Network, a global cultural engagement platform powered by AEMG TV that will debut during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Fan Embassy Network will create fan-driven experiences, live programming and cultural activations connecting international soccer fans across host cities through digital media, events and community-based “fan embassy” hubs.

With more than 25 years in the entertainment industry, Abdul Chestnut has built a reputation as a pioneer in independent media, digital streaming and creative entrepreneurship. His work continues to bridge entertainment, technology and community development while empowering the next generation of creators, innovators, and cultural leaders.

Through his leadership and innovation, Chestnut remains committed to producing positive, culturally uplifting entertainment while building platforms that support global collaboration, education, and economic opportunity.
