BIO...
Henry Morray is a Spoken Word Poet born in Maryland and raised in Iowa. He is the proud son of immigrants from Sierra Leone. Henry grew up in Cedar Rapids and went to school at Cornell College in Mount Vernon Iowa. At Cornell he discovered his passion for poetry as he grew to be the President of the schools spoken word and poetry student org, Lyrically Inclined. While in school Henry became Iowa City's 2022 Champion for Slam-O-Vision, a UNESCO International Cities of Literature project. In 2023 Henry graduated from Cornell College with a degree in Product Development and Marketing. Currently Henry resides in the Quad Cities, where he routinely leads poetry workshops for students as a Creative Educator for Young Lions Roar and emcees poetry events at Roaring Rhetoric in Rock Island. As a Poet Henry seeks to package his words in a medium that conjures mentally stimulating imagery, evokes an emotional range, and most importantly, establishes a human connection.
