Author Nyilah Sulaimana was raised in Davenport, Iowa, in a household brimming with creativity alongside her three siblings. Her father, BK Davis, a renowned jazz musician and Iowa’s first African American Steinway International Artist, influenced her through his music and spontaneous storytelling. Her mother, Valerie Bibbs, a jazz concert promoter and health information technician, enriched their home with music and fostered a love for stories by regularly reading to Nyilah and her siblings. This vibrant artistic environment nurtured Nyilah’s passion for the arts. In addition to writing, she enjoys singing, reading, and spending time with her son, Mason, who continues to be her greatest inspiration. As an author, Nyilah is dedicated to contributing to the creative growth and happiness of children everywhere.
